Mission and vision of Higher Education Ministry

The ministry aims to create knowledge, growth and welfare in Denmark as it takes its place in an increasingly globalised world.

We are doing so by ensuring students, researchers and teachers, as well as businesses and public institutions have even better conditions for carrying out research, studying and innovating.

Our vision is to create the best possible conditions for researching, studying and innovating in Europe.

That is why we are working towards:

• Better quality and better cohesion in higher education
• Even more quality and relevance in research
• Increased use and dissemination of knowledge and technology
• Improve internationalisation of higher education, research and innovation
• Increased innovation in businesses, public institutions and higher education
• Effective administration of education support and grants

Strategic objective of Higher Education Ministry

The government platform has set ambitious targets for research, innovation and higher education. The Higher Education Ministry shall meet the objectives for research, innovation and higher education as set out in the government platform, while also taking responsibility for drawing up a number of cross-ministerial strategies. Also, because of the minister's membership of the Government Finance and Coordination Committees, the ministry shall support the implementation of the collective government platform.
