About the publication
As a consequence of globalisation and internationalisation, advanced technology is becoming an increasingly strong competion factor. The Danish Government's ambition is that Denmark should be among the World's leading IT and knowledge societies.
An efficient use of IT is the basis for better products, more efficient production processes and better service for citizens. At the same time, the generation of new knowledge is decisive if, in the future, we are to supply interesting and competetive products and services that can directly and indirectly strenghten public welfare.
The purpose of this publication, which is published in connection with the IST 2002 Event – Partnership for the Future, Copenhagen on 4-6 November 2002, is to take a closer look at Denmarks position as an IT and knowledge society.
