In December 1996, the government adopted a national strategy for environmental and energy research.
The national strategy was prepared in an open process, to witch researchers and users made contributions. The national strategy for environmental and energy research provides the framework for coordinating and priority setting in accordance with government objectives on environmental and energy policy.
The national strategy provides an important foundation for development in environmental and energy research which can meet the needs and demands of society.
