Education in EU
Better linking between education and employment, and negotiations for a new European framework programme for education are among the initiatives scheduled during the Danish EU Presidency.
Negotiations on a new EU education programme will begin during the Danish EU Presidency. The objective is to promote student mobility and European educational cooperation.
The European Commission's Erasmus programme's 25th anniversary is celebrated with a conference 8-9 May focusing on the future of Erasmus and the challenges faced by European higher education.
A better link between education and the labour market is a specific theme for the Danish Presidency. The objective is to promote more young people taking an education that leads to relevant employment.
Both the Higher Education Ministry and the Ministry of Children and Education are responsible for a number of meetings and other events in the field of education and youth during the Presidency.
Education falls under the Education, Youth, Culture and Sport Council (EYCS).
The Council works to ensure a high standard of education and vocational training and contributes to the flourishing of national cultures.
Chairing the Council during the Presidency are Danish Ministers:
